AURUS, the new Russian brand luxury cars will enter motorsports with G-Drive Racing in 2019

AURUS was revealed for the first time on the international scene at the last Geneva International Motorshow. The AURUS SENAT Limousine is in fact the benchmark of Russian technology, and announces the arrival of new luxury car manufacturer on the international automotive markets.

Thanks to the consideration of the ACO (Automobile Club de l'Ouest) who has understood the power
of this investment, AURUS will now also enter the European and worldwide endurance races, in
order to mark a successful milestone in the history of Motorsports.


G‐Drive Team was FIA WEC World Champion in 2015 and has collected all the European championship titles since 2016. In 2019, the team will defend its title running the LMP2 AURUS 01 in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the ELMS season as well as some WEC races. A new prototype enters the endurance racing and will clearly highlight the active participation of the Russian manufacturer.

The race car, equipped with a 4.2‐liter atmospheric V8 engine that develops about 600 hp was designed by ORECA. The driver line‐up promises a good start in the history of Russian motorsport with Russian driver Roman Rusinov, French star Jean‐Eric Vergne and Dutch Job van Uitert.


#26 AURUS 01 will be on the 2019 Le Mans 24 hours starting grid, will complete the full ELMS season as well as the WEC 6 Hours of Spa‐Francorchamps.
