All Set for Final Qualifying Tomorrow Morning

It was all change at the top in the second 60-minute session of the day with the no18 Murphy Prototypes LMP2 entry setting the fastest time. With Jonathan Hirschi at the wheel the Nissan powered Oreca 03 lapped the 5.791km Paul Ricard circuit in a time of 1m49.088, 0.529s ahead of Mathias Beche in the no1 Thiriet by TDS Racing Oreca. Third fastest was the no38 Jota Sport Zytek of Oliver Turvey, 0.577s adrift of the no18 car, with the other championship contenders, the no36 Signatech Alpine of Nelson Panciatici putting in a best lap that was 0.977 slower than Hirschi.

The tables were turned in the LMPC class with Soheil Ayari posting the best time in class on day one with a 1m53.816.

After posting the second best time this morning, it was all smiles in the RAM Racing awning this afternoon as Matt Griffin ended the day at the top of the LMGTE list with a 1m56.847 in the no52 Ferrari 458 Italia, 0.471s ahead of the no66 JMW Motorsport Ferrari of Andrea Bertolini and 0.884s faster than their only challenger for the GTE title, the nr77 Proton Competition Porsche of Nick Tandy.

Normal service resumed in the GTC class with the class points leaders in the no69 SMP Racing Ferrari 458 setting the afternoon's best time. However Viktor Shaitar's 1m58.843 was 0.141s slower than the morning's best time set by Steeve Hiesse in the no88 Scuderia Villorba Corse Ferrari.

Qualifying for Round 5 of the 2013 European Le Mans Series will take place at 10:20 (local) and the 3 Hours of Paul Ricard is due to start at 16:30, with live streaming of the race on the official website at www.europeanlemansseries.com
