After the third round of the season at the Red Bull Ring we are now half way to the end of the 2016 ELMS season. Here is how things stand now.

The three drivers of the team, Harry Tincknell, Giedo Van Der Garde and Simon Dolan, are also heading the drivers’ championship with also 58 points. Just behind is Thiriet by TDS Racing with 51 points after 2 victories in row in Imola and the Red Bull Ring this weekend. Mathias Beche, Pierre Thiriet and Ryo Hirakawa are also in 2nd position in the driver’s classification with 50 points. Just after, on 42 points, we find the n°32 of SMP Racing as well as the drivers Andreas Wirth, Julien Leal and Stefano Coletti.

In LMP3, United Autosport lead the class with its n°2 Ligier Nissan. They have scored 75 points since the beginning of the season, with 3 victories in a row. Alex Brundle, Christian England and Michael Guasch are also leading the class in the driver’s classification.  With 42 points, the n°19 of Duqueine Engineering is in second position as well as the drivers, David Hallyday and Dino Lunardi with 42 points. The team’s third driver, David Roux, is third of the classification with 30 points as he missed the first round of the season. Finally, 360 Racing has 28 points and is in third position of the LMP3 team classification.

The fight for the championship lead in LMGTE is really strong and we will see a great battle during the final three races. The n°56 AT Racing Ferrari leads the classification (48 points) but only 1 point ahead of the n°99 Aston Martin Racing Vantage (47 points), the team that won the race in their home track in Silverstone. Just behind the Beechdean Aston Martin we find the JMW Motorsport Ferrari with 43 points. Concerning the GTE drivers, the leaders are father and son Talkanitsa heading the Aston Martin drivers Alex MacDowall, Andrew Howard and Darren Turner. Finally in 3rd position are the JMW Motorsports drivers, Andrea Bertonlini, Robert Smith and Rory Butcher.
