Highlights after 120 minutes of Racing in Austria

At the half way point of the race 37 of the 38 cars that started the race are still running. Here are the highlights from the first 120 minutes.

Leaders –

LMP2: no46 Thiriet by TDS Racing Oreca05-Nissan (Ryo Hirakawa)

LMP3: no18 M Racing – YMR Ligier-Nissan (Thomas Laurent)

LMGTE: no77 Proton Competition Porsche 911 RSR 991 (Marco Seefried)

 

  1. No23 Panis Barthez Competition Ligier of Timothe Buret started  from pole position but penalised for not adhering to the start procedure.  Buret then had contact with no66 JMW Motorsport Ferrari on lap27 which caused him to spin off at the last corner and lose the lead.  Black and white flag shown to no66 for the incident.

 

  1. At 90 minutes the No46 Thiriet by TDS Racing Oreca had to pit to replace front nose as it only had one headlight lit.

 

  1. No38 G Drive Racing Gibson of Giedo Van Der Garde slow puncture to front left early in the race.  After returning to pits the team were back up to 3rd at the 2 hour point

 

  1. No3 United Autosports Ligier of Mark Patterson return to pits after puncture.

 

  1. No33 Eurasia Motorsport Oreca05 Nissan of Tristan Gommendy leading LMP2 after no23 Panis Barthez Competition Ligier went off the track.

 

  1. Full Course Yellow declared on lap 73 to recover the no7 Villorba Corse Ligier-Nissan of Roberto Lacorte which was in the gravel at T5.

 

  1. No17 Ultimate Ligier-Nissan into pits to repair rear lights on lap67

 

  1. At the 2 hour point great battle between the no66 JMW Motorsport Ferrari of Andrea Bertolini and the no99 Aston Martin Racing Vantage of Darren Turner for 2nd place in LMGTE.

 

  1. Lap73 The no56 AT Racing Ferrari of Alexander Talkanitsa Sr returns to pits with right rear flat tyre.
