4 Hours of Silverstone – Half Time Scores

With two hours of the 4 Hours of Silverstone complete the on track drama has kept the spectators lining the 5.9km circuit on the edge of their seats. Here are some of the highlights on the first half.
  • The no40 Graff Oreca 07-Gibson of Richard Bradley started the race in 28th place and the British driver had to fight his way back to the front of the field.  By lap 30 Bradley had taken the lead and handed the car to Franck Matelli.
  • As the second hour counted down Matt McMurray took the lead in the no25 Algarve Pro Racing Ligier-Gibson overtaking Matelli in the no40 Graff Oreca. 
  • Matelli dropped to 3rd as he was passed by Leo Roussel in the no22 G-Drive Racing Gibson and Roussel attached his car to the rear of the leading Ligier.  Roussel takes the lead at Copse on lap 60 with 2hours and 5 minutes still on the clock. McMurray fights back and tries to regain the lead.

  • The no21 Dragonspeed Oreca of Ben Hanley led the first part of the race from pole position.  Handed the car to Henrik Hedman but the Swede had a spin and dropped down the field.
  • Hanley sets fastest lap of the race so far with a 1m47.474 on lap 4, a new LMP2 lap record for Silverstone.
  • The no49 High Class Racing Dallara-Gibson led the race with Anders Fjordbach at the wheel on the all Danish team’s ELMS debut.

  • United Autosports are currently 1-2 in LMP3 with the no2 Ligier-Nissan of Sean Rayhall leading by over a minute to Christian England in the no3 car.
  • No13 Inter Europol Competition Ligier JS P3 of Jakub Smiechowski was lying 3rd in LMP3 but issued a drive through penalty for abusing track limits dropping the Polish driver down the field.

  • The no90 TF Sport Aston Martin Vantage of Euan Hankey was leading LMGTE at the 2 hour point but an incident at Copse Corner saw the English driver spinning off the track along with the no51 Ferrari of Gianluca Roda.
  • The leader of the LMGTE class is the no77 Proton Competition Porsche 911 of Joel Camathias, the Swiss driver inheriting the lead following the incident with the no90 TF Sport Aston Martin.
