24 Hours of Le Mans: Which ELMS teams will take part to the Test Day?

On Sunday 3rd June the Test Day will go green on the full 13.6km track at Le Mans in order for the team and drivers to carry out their last checks before the big week of the 2018 24 Hours of Le Mans, the 86th edition of the world’s most famous motor sport event.

13 ELMS teams will take part to the Test Day : 10 LMP2 and 3 GTE AM

The ten ELMS LMP2 teams have already participated at least once in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Among them we can find the 2017 ELMS championship winning team G-Drive Racing with its n°26 Oreca 07 driven by Roman Rusinov, Jean-Eric Vergne, Andrea Pizzitola and Alexandre Imperatori. The Russian team will have another entry the n°40 Oreca 07 that is also doing the 2018 European Le Mans Series.

United Autosports will have one of the most coveted line-ups of the Test Day with the seven-time F1 Grand Prix winner Juan Pablo Montoya at the wheel of the n°32 Ligier JSP217. He will drive alongside Hugo De Sadeleer, Will Owen and Wayne Boyd. The Anglo-American team will enter another JSP217 with the n°22 Ligier driven by Phil Hanson, Filipe Albuquerque and Paul Di Resta.

Another former Formula 1 driver is part of the ELMS entries to the 24 Hours of Le Mans: the Brazilian Felipe Nasr. He will race at the wheel of the n°47 Cetilar Villorba Corse Dallara P217.

Three French teams will take part to the Test day: Panis Barthez Competition; Graff-So24 and Idec Sport.

The n°25 Algarve Pro Racing Ligier JSP217 and the n°35 Dallara of the Russian SMP Racing will round off the LMP2 ELMS grid at Le Mans

Concerning the LMGTE AM, three ELMS teams will be on track during the Test Day. Reigning 2017 European Champions and class winners at Le Mans JMW Motorport will be back to defend their hard-won title, hoping to repeat the same result this year.

Ebimotors, the 2017 GT3 Michelin Le Mans Cup champions, will be at Le Mans for the for the first time, so this day of testing on Sunday will be very important for the Italian team’s preparations

The third and final ELMS LMGTE team is the highly experienced Proton Competition team.  The German outfit has competed at Le Mans many times and will enter their n°99 Porsche 911 RSR driven by Patrick Long, Timothy Pappas and Spencer Pumpelly.

See you on the 3rd June from 9am for the beginning of track action which will mark the beginning of the 2018 24 Hours of Le Mans!
