ELMS - 13/06/2012
The Le Mans 24 Hours is the highpoint of the international endurance season. The event will take place this weekend (16-17 June) and there will be fifteen teams racing in the European Le Mans Series on the grid. Ten LM P2 teams out of the eleven in the ELMS make up half the field at Le Mans and they will battle for victory in the category with the usual runners in the FIA World Endurance Championship.
The only notable absentee is the recently-created Sébastien Loeb Racing team, which did not receive an invitation to take part in the event. The French squad racked up useful track time during the test day to find its marks for 2013.
The French team, Thiriet by TDS Racing, the current ELMS teams' leader after its win in the Le Castellet 6 Hours will be a focal point of interest for the observers. This will also be the case for the British squad Greaves Motorsport, victorious in the 2011 24 Hours in LM P2. Also entered are OAK Racing, Status Grand Prix, Jota, Race Performance, Extrême Limite, Boutsen Ginion Racing, Murphy Prototypes and Pecom Racing.
In LM GTE Pro, JMW Motorsport has a chance like AF Corse, Prospeed Compétition, IMSA Performance Racing and JMB Racing in LM GTE Am.
The 80th Le Mans 24-Hours race finishes on Sunday 17th June at 15h00.
