1000Km of Algarve: Portuguese well represented!
ELMS - 08/07/2009
After one round in Barcelona then in Spa, Le Mans Series will soon come to Portugal with the 1000Km of Algarve, held from 30 July until 1st of August. The Algarve racetrack will host the third round of the season as well as 6 supporting races!
The starting grid consists of 43 cars amongst which the faithful Portuguese team, QUIFEL – ASM TEAM, with Olivier Pla and the Portuguese racing driver Miguel Amaral behind the wheel. Tiago Monteiro, famous Portuguese racing driver, will share the drive of Oreca 01 - AIM n°10 with Bruno Senna. Aston Martin Racing has just confirmed Miguel Ramos's presence on Lola Aston Martin n°009. Francisco Cruz Martin will drive the Porsche 997 GT3 RSR of the Team Felbermayr Proton.
All teams and drivers, discovering a new layout, will contest on equal terms for this Le Mans Series round; one of the first international competitions held on this brand new circuit. Do not forget, this race is different - it will be at night, starting at 7.15 p.m (local time)! A good opportunity to create, during one week-end, the Le Mans atmosphere for the Portuguese and the many tourists present at this time of year. The spectators will even be treated to a concert organised in the paddock!
